In the Lower Mainland, electricity is supplied by BC Hydro, so FortisBC's electric heat pump rebates don't apply here. Heat pump rebates for electrically heated homes come through BC Hydro and CleanBC programs instead. As a registered heat pump contractor, we'll tell you exactly which program fits your home. Call 604-969-7770.
Not as a stand-alone rebate. As of October 2026, FortisBC's main heating rebate for homes already on natural gas is the dual fuel rebate: $4,000 (or $8,000 for income-qualified households) when you replace a gas furnace that is 15+ years old with a new high-efficiency gas furnace plus a heat pump. Homes switching from oil or propane can still get up to $3,800 for a gas furnace or boiler.
$4,000 for most homes and $8,000 for income-qualified households. The rebate can't be more than the amount you paid on your invoice.
Yes. The dual fuel system must be installed by a Technical Safety BC licensed gas contractor who is a member of the Home Performance Contractor Network (HPCN). Angels Heating & Cooling is an HPCN-registered heat pump contractor, licensed by TSBC (LGA 0203414).
No. FortisBC's dual fuel rebate can't be combined with other FortisBC, provincial or federal rebate programs for the same upgrade. We'll help you compare options and pick the one that pays you the most.
For the dual fuel rebate, within 6 months of your paid invoice. For the appliance maintenance rebate, within 60 days of your service invoice. For the connect-to-gas $1,000 bonus, you need a pre-qualification code before December 31, 2026 and a paid invoice before March 31, 2027.
You apply online through your FortisBC account. Maintenance rebates are paid as a credit on your FortisBC bill (or by cheque if you're not the account holder); processing can take up to 90 days.
